The Organization
Charlotte Reign is a premiere AAU basketball non-profit organization run by experienced and knowledgeable coaches who are committed to the complete development of each player. The Reign stress hard work and dedication over talent, and teamwork over individual play. We are focused on helping each of our players prepare and advance to the next stage of their basketball careers. Whether the player's goal is Division I, II, or III, our aim is to teach fundamentals, team play, and the basketball IQ that is necessary at the next level, and to integrate these elements into how our players and teams play the game.
The organization was founded in 2010 with the formation of a U16 team. After the Reign's first full AAU season, the team moved up to U17 for the following year. It was then that they began to lay the groundwork for success that the Reign strives for today. They began the season by taking home the Carolina Crossover and Queen City Classic championships. The team followed that up by finishing 4th in the AAU Super Regional Championship and thereby qualifying for the D1 national championship. The Reign ended the stellar 2nd season by finishing 40th out of 156 top teams from around the country at the invite-only AAU Super Showcase in Orlando, FL.
The Charlotte Reign will expand in 2012 by forming a 16U team and 15U North team to compliment their current 17U and 12U teams.
